The flagship of Hoan My Medical Corporation, the largest private hospital group in Vietnam, and the clearest example of the country’s middle tier: 300 beds, every ordinary department, open around the clock, and priced well below the international hospitals while being quicker and quieter than a public one. It sits on Phan Xich Long in Phu Nhuan, between the centre and the airport.
What it is known for
Being the middle option, which in Vietnam is a real and useful category rather than a compromise. Hoan My Saigon is the flagship of Hoan My Medical Corporation, the country’s largest private hospital group, and it runs 300 beds across the ordinary range of departments — emergency, surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics, imaging and laboratory — on a busy site in Phu Nhuan. The hospital states that it is open 24 hours. It is a Vietnamese private hospital serving Vietnamese patients rather than a hospital built around foreign ones, and it is priced accordingly.
Who it suits
Travellers without insurance who still want to be seen quickly and in reasonable comfort; long-stay residents who cannot justify international prices for routine care; and anyone in Phu Nhuan, Binh Thanh or the airport end of the city who needs a hospital now. It is a sensible place for a stomach infection, a wound that needs cleaning and stitching, an X-ray after a fall, or a fever that needs a blood test. For a major injury or anything needing intensive care, the public referral hospitals and the international ones are both better equipped.
Cost and insurance
Vietnamese private pricing: several times a public hospital, a fraction of FV or Vinmec. Most visitors will pay at the cashier and claim afterwards, because direct billing depends on an arrangement between the hospital and your insurer and is far less common at this tier than at the international hospitals. Bring your passport and a card that works abroad, ask what the treatment will cost before it starts, and ask for an itemised receipt and a medical certificate at the end. Do not assume a report will be written in English unless you request it.
Getting there
On Phan Xich Long in Phu Nhuan, the wide restaurant street north-west of the centre, about four kilometres from Ben Thanh Market and roughly the same from Tan Son Nhat airport — fifteen minutes by taxi either way outside the rush hours. Grab and Be both cover it and the hospital is on the street front with its own entrance. The switchboard, +84 28 3990 2468, is answered around the clock; for an ambulance you can also call the national number, 115.
Details checked against the hospital’s own website, September 2026. Call before a non-urgent visit; in an emergency call 115 or the hospital’s own emergency line above. Travel information, not medical advice.
