Opened in 2006 and the second hospital of the Kasih Ibu group, this 100-bed general hospital sits on Jalan Uluwatu at Kedonganan, between the airport and Jimbaran. The group describes it as serving Kuta’s residents and international hotel guests, and it lists orthopaedics and traumatology, urology, and digestive and endoscopy work alongside a 24-hour emergency unit, intensive care, an operating theatre, radiology and a laboratory.
What it is known for
Orthopaedics and trauma on the side of the island where people crash. Kasih Ibu Kedonganan opened in 2006 on Jalan Uluwatu, a hundred beds between the airport and Jimbaran, and the group lists orthopaedic and traumatology surgery among the specialties it keeps here, along with urology and endoscopy. It runs a 24-hour emergency unit with its own ambulances, an intensive-care unit, an operating theatre, a delivery room, radiology and a laboratory. Records are shared electronically with the group’s other three hospitals, so a case that starts here can finish in Denpasar without repeating itself.
Who it suits
Anyone staying in Jimbaran, Kedonganan, Uluwatu or south Kuta, and anyone who needs a bone set rather than a bandage. The group says the hospital takes a good deal of outpatient work from international hotel guests, which is a fair description of what it does: holiday illness, cuts, sprains and fractures, seen in English, at Indonesian private prices. Anything requiring neurosurgery, complex cardiac work or a long intensive-care stay goes on to Denpasar or, on an evacuation policy, abroad.

Getting there
On Jalan Uluwatu just past Kedonganan fish market, about ten minutes from the airport, five from Jimbaran Bay and fifteen to twenty from Kuta Beach when the road is behaving. Grab and Gojek both come here. The hotline, +62 361 300 3030, is the group’s, so say Kedonganan when you call; the hospital runs its own ambulances from the emergency unit. Jalan Uluwatu is the main road south, so a driver needs no more than the name of the village.
