Who it suits
Anyone staying in Ubud, Tegallalang, Payangan or the villages around them, for whom Denpasar is an hour or more away in traffic that can be very slow. Scooter injuries on the Ubud back roads, food-borne illness, dengue, infected cuts from a rice-terrace fall, and the sudden problems of long-stay visitors are its regular work. Anything needing neurosurgery, complex cardiac care or a long intensive-care stay is stabilised and referred west to Denpasar; do not sit in Ubud waiting for a serious case to improve.
