The private counterpart to Pak Chong Nana, a few minutes away on the same highway. It belongs to the Bangkok Dusit Medical Services group, is open around the clock, runs its own ambulances and handles the resorts and vineyards along the Thanarat Road as well as the town. Serious cases go on to the group’s hospital in Korat or to Bangkok.
What it is known for
Being the private hospital nearest Khao Yai. It sits on the Mittraphap Road at the Nong Sarai end of Pak Chong, belongs to the BDMS group, and is open every day around the clock with an emergency department, its own ambulances, inpatient rooms and the usual outpatient clinics. It has served the town and the resorts along the Thanarat Road for well over a decade. What it does not have is the specialist depth of the group’s Korat hospital, so anything major is stabilised here and transferred — which the group arranges as a matter of routine.
Who it suits
Visitors staying at Khao Yai with travel insurance, families who want a private room and a short wait, and anyone who has come off a scooter or a mountain-bike trail and wants to be seen now rather than after the public queue. It is also the easier option if your Thai is limited. If the injury is serious, do not shop around: call 1669, let the ambulance decide, and sort the hospital out afterwards.
Cost and insurance
Private prices, below the Bangkok hospitals but several times the public hospital next door. Direct billing depends on whether your insurer holds a contract with the BDMS group, which many international policies do; without that, expect to pay and claim, and expect a deposit on admission. Ask for a written estimate before treatment starts, particularly if a scan or an operation is proposed, and take away the itemised receipt and an English-language medical certificate. Both are routine to ask for and awkward to obtain once you have left the country.
Getting there
On the Mittraphap Road at Nong Sarai, on the Bangkok side of Pak Chong town, set back from the highway with parking in front. From the Khao Yai visitor centre allow the better part of an hour down the Thanarat Road; from Bangkok it is roughly two and a half to three hours.
