Cafes & Coffee Culture in Da Nang
A visual guide from the Da Nang travel guide — see all posters in Visual Guides.
Vietnam runs on coffee and Da Nang is no exception — but here the classic phin-drip culture shares the street with a fast-growing specialty scene: minimalist roasteries, beach-view espresso bars and riverside cafés built for long, air-conditioned afternoons. It may be the easiest city in Vietnam to spend a whole day in cafés without repeating a style.
What to Order
The essentials: cà phê sữa đá (iced with condensed milk), bạc xỉu for something milkier, cà phê muối — the salt-cream coffee that migrated down from Hue — and coconut coffee blended almost to ice cream. Specialty shops pour Vietnamese-grown arabica alongside the classic robusta punch.
Where to Sit
Cluster one: the An Thuong lanes and beach road, full of laptop-friendly, brunch-adjacent cafés. Cluster two: the riverside and the old city grid, where garden cafés and top-floor windows face the Dragon Bridge. Prices stay gentle everywhere, and nobody hurries you out.
