Saigon's skyline finally matches its swagger. Landmark 81 — a bundled glass spire rising 461 metres beside the river — is Vietnam's tallest building, with the SkyView observation decks stacked on floors 79–81. Downtown, the lotus-bud Bitexco Financial Tower and its cantilevered helipad still own the postcard, with the Saigon Skydeck wrapping floor 49. Do one at dusk and you'll understand why nobody calls this city sleepy.
Two Towers, Two Views
They complement rather than compete. Bitexco sits in the middle of District 1, so its 49th-floor Skydeck puts you inside the action — the river bend, Nguyen Hue's neon axis and the rooftops of old Saigon laid out like a map. Landmark 81 stands upriver beside Vinhomes Central Park and out-tops everything for kilometres; from SkyView the whole metropolis fades into haze. Clear late afternoons are best — the moment the city lights switch on is the payoff.
Tickets & Timing
Both decks sell walk-up tickets daily until late evening; prices change, so check current rates before you commit. The budget alternative is liquid — sky bars near the top of each tower, and across District 1, charge little more than a cocktail for a comparable view. At Landmark 81's base, the Vincom mall and its ice rink make a good escape-the-heat hour, and a Grab ride back downtown takes about ten minutes outside rush hour.
