King Power Mahanakhon is the pixelated skyscraper — a 314-metre tower that looks mid-dissolve, a spiral of glass cubes carved out of its shaft — and its SkyWalk is Bangkok's headline observation deck. A themed lift rockets you up in well under a minute; above sit an indoor gallery and an open-air rooftop with 360-degree views and a glass tray jutting over the edge, one of the largest glass floors in the world.
The Experience
The indoor floors handle the orientation — floor-to-ceiling windows, interactive screens, coffee — but the rooftop is the point: a stepped summit where Bangkok's sprawl runs unbroken to the horizon and the Chao Phraya coils through it in silver. Shoe covers on, you shuffle onto the glass tray and look roughly 310 metres straight down to the street. The vertigo is real, the photos are spectacular, and staff will happily take them for you.
Timing & Tickets
Sunset is the marquee slot — arrive an hour before to watch the city flip from gold to neon — though burning-season haze can mute late-afternoon views, so a clear evening after rain is gold dust. Tickets are usually cheaper online, with day-and-night and combo options rotating; the rooftop bar serves drinks if you want to linger after dark. Getting there is effortless: BTS Chong Nonsi sits at the tower's feet on the Silom line.
