When the beloved Ratchada Train Night Market lost its lease, its operators bounced back in late 2021 with Jodd Fairs — and it promptly became Bangkok's night market of the moment. A short walk from MRT Phra Ram 9 in the Rama IX business district, its tidy rows of white tents glow with grill smoke and neon, and a young crowd grazes between food stalls, vintage fashion and live acoustic sets.
What to Eat & Hunt For
The signature order is leng saap — a volcano of slow-stewed pork spine buried under bird's-eye chillies and lime — photographed as often as it is eaten. Beyond it stretch grilled river prawns, mango sticky rice, torched seafood trays, fruit shakes and dessert counters, most at gentle street prices. The retail rows lean young: vintage tees, sneakers, y2k accessories and plants, with bars and buskers holding the back corners. Come hungry and graze — portions are built for sharing.
Timing Your Visit
Stalls light up from late afternoon and run to around midnight nightly; the crush peaks from early evening on weekends, so landing before dinner means shorter queues and cooler air. The market has shifted plots within the Rama IX block since it opened, so follow the current map pin from the MRT rather than memory. Its sibling, Jodd Fairs DanNeramit, fills the grounds of an old fairy-tale castle near BTS Ha Yaek Lat Phrao if you're staying north of downtown.
