Booking

Where to book and what to sort out before you fly — flight search and online travel agencies, places to stay, and travel insurance.

Once you know which carrier you want — see the Airlines page for who flies LAX to Asia — this is where you put the rest of the trip together. The sections below split it into flights, hotels, and travel insurance. Sites that book both flights and hotels appear under each, with a link to the right part of the site. For mobile data and eSIMs, see the Mobile page.

A common pattern: compare fares on a metasearch engine, then book the cheapest option directly with the airline. Booking on a carrier’s own site gives you the best handling on schedule changes, mileage credit, and disrupted itineraries.

Flights

Metasearch engines and OTAs compare fares across dozens of carriers at once. Metasearch sites usually hand you off to the airline or an OTA to finish the purchase; full OTAs sell the ticket themselves. If a fare is identical, the airline’s own site is usually the better buy — refunds, schedule changes, and irregular operations are handled faster.

Hotels

Most of the metasearch engines and OTAs above also book accommodation — often at different rates than they show for flights, so it pays to compare a couple. The dedicated lodging sites round out the picture, from chain hotels to private homes and traveler reviews.

Insurance

Medical care abroad and trip disruptions add up fast. A travel policy covers the gaps your home health plan won’t — especially worth it on long or multi-country trips through Asia.
