A long-established private hospital on Archbishop Reyes Street in central Kalibo, licensed at Level 2 with 120 beds, which means intensive care, specialist cover and a tertiary laboratory. It reopened a rebuilt emergency room in May 2026. It is also the mainland end of the Saint Gabriel group, so a patient referred off Boracay by its island infirmary usually lands here.

It describes itself as a tertiary base hospital and reopened a rebuilt emergency room in May 2026. It is not the largest private hospital in the province — Asia Pacific Medical Center at Andagao, on +63 36 268 2320, has 150 beds and the same Level 2 licence — but it is the most central, and it is the group behind the Boracay infirmary.
Who it suits
A traveller with insurance who has been transferred off Boracay and would rather have a private room, a shorter wait and a doctor who can be reached, than the crowded corridors of the provincial hospital across town. It suits families, and it suits anyone whose case started at Saint Gabriel on the island, since the referral runs within one group. For the very worst cases — complex trauma, neurosurgery, anything wanting a Level 3 hospital — Aklan is not the answer at all, and the next step is Iloilo, Cebu or Manila.
Cost and insurance
Private rates: a good deal more than the provincial hospital and a good deal less than a private hospital in Manila. A deposit before admission and settlement before discharge are the rule here as everywhere in the country. Direct billing arrangements are with Philippine health plans rather than foreign travel insurers, so expect to pay and claim, keep every receipt, and get the discharge summary and an English medical certificate before you leave. Ask for a written estimate before any procedure — the hospital publishes nothing comparable to the province’s public schedule.
Getting there
On Archbishop Reyes Street at the corner of G. Pastrana Street, in the Poblacion in the centre of Kalibo, about ten minutes by tricycle from Kalibo International Airport and a short ride from the bus and van terminals that serve Caticlan. From Boracay it is the boat, then roughly 65 kilometres of road, an hour and a half to two hours. The switchboard is +63 36 268 3710. Any tricycle in town will take you for a few pesos; the hospital is a landmark of central Kalibo in its own right.
