The Most Luxurious Hotels in Vietnam

Four shortlists — the central coast, the two great cities, and an island of resorts in the south.

Vietnam gives more hotel for the money than anywhere else in this collection, and its central coast holds the most theatrical resort in Asia. The four shortlists cover the length of the country: Hanoi in the north, the Da Nang and Hoi An beaches in the middle, Ho Chi Minh City in the south, and Phu Quoc offshore.

It is a long, thin country with three different climates at once, so the season depends on which shortlist you are reading. The central coast is at its best from February to August; the north is cool and grey in winter and hot from May; the south and Phu Quoc are driest from November to April.

Before you book

Rates are indicative low-season from-prices for the cheapest room a hotel normally sells, and they move a long way with the season and the calendar. Treat them as a way of ranking the shortlists against one another rather than as a quote. Every hotel on these pages was cross-checked against live listings; none of it is a paid placement, and PacificAir takes no commission on a booking.
