The EM District is three malls around one BTS station: Emporium, the polished original from the 1990s; EmQuartier, with its spiralling restaurant helix and hanging gardens; and EmSphere, the newest arrival — a raw, neon-lit hall built like a giant tech venue, with a basement street-food market and a live-events arena. Skybridges tie the trio to BTS Phrom Phong, with leafy Benjasiri Park alongside.
Three Malls, Three Moods
Emporium is the classic: department-store calm, long-standing luxury names and an easy pace. EmQuartier is the crowd-pleaser — follow the Helix ramp as it corkscrews down through floor after floor of destination restaurants, then find the hanging gardens and the outdoor terraces. EmSphere feels more like a festival building than a mall: an IKEA city store, indie Thai fashion, a basement food zone styled like a night market, and the UOB Live arena drawing international acts.
Practical Notes
Everything meets at BTS Phrom Phong — skybridges run straight into EmQuartier and Emporium, with EmSphere a short covered walk beside Benjasiri Park. Food is the district's real sport, from EmSphere's street-food basement to EmQuartier's restaurant helix, so come hungry rather than planning a single meal. Rooftop bars on the newer buildings catch the sunset, and the park below fills with joggers, skaters and evening aerobics as the towers light up.
