Krabi & Railay Beach

Krabi province is mainland Andaman, and Railay is its pocket peninsula — cut off from road access by limestone cliffs and reachable only by longtail boat from Ao Nang. The beach is one of the most photographed in Thailand for good reason: a wide sand crescent backed by orange cliffs, a few mid-range resorts and bungalow operations, and Tonsai next door for the rock-climbing crowd. Half-day longtail tours hit the four-island circuit (Poda, Chicken, Tup, Mor) for snorkelling and sandbar swims.
