About PacificAir

A personal travel journal — routes, field notes, and photographs from across the globe.

What This Site Is

PacificAir is a long-running personal travel journal — a working notebook, kept in public, in case any of it is useful to anyone planning a journey of their own. It is not a booking site, not a magazine, and not an itinerary generator. The writing is unsponsored, the photographs are mine, and the routes are the ones I actually took.

What began as a private notebook of routes and itineraries grew, over many trips, into a public archive of destinations, photographs, and practical guides. The site is organized in a few overlapping ways. Destinations arranges the material by place — continent, country, region. Photography collects the images on their own, and Guides covers the cross-cutting questions of planning, packing, and life on the road. Maps gathers tourist maps for the destinations covered here — built to be saved offline before you fly.

Editorial Approach

Every country page follows the same loose template: a short overview, a route map of where I actually went, transit notes, where I stayed, what I ate, and a closing section on what I would do differently. The goal is to be useful to the next traveler without pretending the experience is universal. Prices, visa rules, and conditions on the ground change constantly — the dates on each entry matter. New entries land whenever there is signal; older entries are revised when memory and notes disagree.
